"M. H. [Martin H.] and Clara Waldo came to Brush Creek around 1902 and ranched across the creek from the Shryacks until 1917, when they retired in California. Tom Carlin bought the ranch, and subsequent owners were Hans and Thelma Larsen and Glenn and Denzel Norman." -- [History of Brush Creek p.26]
The Waldo's had one daughter who married Ralph Wolverton. This couple had a son, Charles Wolverton.

23) John Welsh

John Welsh also built a house on Wall Street in Eagle, Colorado, where the family of Charles and Sallie (Welsh) Hartman stayed during the winter so the children could attend school.
John Welsh lost the Ranch in 1929 or 1930...

Pete Horn, coming from Bailey, Colorado, purchased the tract from two trappers about 1890, and homesteaded with the help of his wife, Melissa, and seven children.

"The Doan ranch was purchased from Mr. Doan by James P. Gates in about 1899. When J. P. Gates and Kate first moved to the Doan place, they lived in the small house to the left until the big house was built. Later, James George Gates, son of Bert and Nona Gates, purchased the ranch from J. P. Gates." -- The Gates Genealogy

"Sam and Russell's mother was Cora Fenno (daughter of Emma Fenno Graham), who married Joe Carter in Leadville in 1904. Soon after that, the two took up a homestead in the pretty draw that bears their name. They continued living in Leadville, 'proving up' on the land during the summer. Then in the 1920s, they built a two-story white clapboard...

Purley Bertroch and Ellis Bearden (on right) standing in front of a pickup truck. Purley worked on the family farm in Gypsum until World War II, when he served in the First Cavalry, U.S. Army. After that, he worked as a carpenter, general contractor and developer throughout Eagle County.
38) W. E. Nottingham

1923: William Emmett Nottingham, born in Gilman (Belles Camp), 1893, youngest son of William H. Nottingham. In 1923, he was an up-and-coming rancher at Avon; he remained a rancher his entire life.
