This is a view of the 3500 block of South Broadway looking North. Englewood Drug (on the left) was at 3531 S. Broadway. Notice the street car in the center of the photo.
Upstairs in the Crysler building were attorney's offices and the office of Dr. John Simon. The car was probably in a parade on South Broadway when this photo was taken.
The carnival was on the east side of Broadway where Highway 285 now runs. Old Lowell school is in the background which is now the Masonic Temple. The Abbott Lumber buildings are at the left.
In 1935 the store was owned by J. F. (Mabel) Stirratt. By 1939 the store was called Greenstreet's Grocery, owned by W. B. (Vella) Greenstreet. It was located on Broadway at Bates. Note the bench between the trees which was used for the bus stop.
