Shared marker for: "Adams, Charlie Earl, July 2, 1889--Feb. 23, 1973; Inez Riggs, Nov. 21, 1883--Mar. 30, 1973," in the McCoy Cemetery. A mountain scene with a cross engraved at the top of the marker. Columbines are engraved at the center of the marker. At bottom, the inscription reads: "Married Aug. 31, 1912."

Mary Wurtsmith examines two graves near Burns, Colorado in 1989. The graves are across the road and up the hill from the Detwiller place, four miles N.E. of Burns on county road 301. The surrounding fence has collapsed
One grave is marked "McMillan-Maida," born Julyl 4, and died September, 14 months later from eating chokecherries probably pits and all. She was Joe Albertson's mother's sister, Joe's aunt.

Marker for: "William "Bill" Gern Booco, June 22, 1931--June 11, 2008," in the McCoy Cemetery.
Inscription: "He was born and raised in McCoy, CO and lived his adult life in the Denver area. His body lies at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO, but his spirit belongs to the mountains.
He was a son, a brother, a father and a grandfather and will always be loved and missed by many. May he rest in peace."

Lizzie Hernage, 24, and her husband Henry were among the first pioneers to arrive in the valley, homesteading at the mouth of Brush Creek in 1882. On July 29, 1885 Henry and Lizzie were moving a herd of cattle across a rickety bridge over the Eagle River when the weight of the load caused the bridge to collapse. Lizzie drowned.
