Studio portrait of Donald and Mabel Ginther taken for their 58th wedding anniversary on Dec. 12, 1988. After retirement, they moved from Minturn to Salida, Colorado, where this photo was taken. Don worked at Gilman and then for the Climax mine. He was also a handy man. He built a corner cupboard for Angela Beck to house some of Ollie Meyer's china. Thomas "...was born in Broadtop, Pa., Oct. 12, 1872 and came to Boulder, Colorado as a young man. For a time he managed a store at Erie before coming to Western Colorado and entered the mercantile business at Palisade with the J. W. Hugus Co. There he met Miss Ella Rose Berger, a clerk at the old Fair Store in Grand Junction. The couple was married March 3, 1907 and eight years later came to Eagle."...
