A rear view of the ranch house, Pair o Dice Mesa. Metal roof and gated yard visible with milk buckets hanging on fence. The "spud" cellar is in the left foreground. The only structure left standing today (2007) is the rock wall of the spud cellar.

School house situated at the mouth of Sunnyside Creek, Burns, Colorado, during the early 1900s. T. Harry Benton rode his horse to this school as did the children of George Benton. Evelyn Evans was the teacher. She married a local cowboy. Evidence of the schools is totally gone.

"Doc" Warren Jacobson and Lislotte Anderson Jacobson standing in front of one of six homesteads on the Jacobson Ranch. This cabin was built by Ada Slusser, sister of Lucy Ellen Slusser Doll (married Frank Doll), in 1890. It was called the honeymoon cabin because, according to the late Myrtie Stephens, the girls from Sweetwater used to go there on their honeymoons (the Stephens girls, as well as others in the community).

Mabel Colerick bought and owned the Fulford cabin in her name alone (1927). The original 1893 cabin burned in 1949 and was rebuilt as Mabel's Madhouse in the early 1950s by Dick Turgeon.
That was the cabin Harvey Ickes inherited (we are not sure how). The 1972 photo of me, Mike, and Harvey Ickes [Easter Sunday] shows the west side of the former Colerick cabin in deep snow. The Ickes family still has the Mabel's Madhouse sign. -- Rich Perske,...

Tobias and Marie Montoya's home on Water Street in Red Cliff [between Turkey Creek and the old Post Office]. The house was demolished on September 9, 2014. Original rock work on the older part of the building.
379. Odd Fellow's Hall

Photo postcard of the Odd Fellow's Hall in Gypsum taken sometime after its construction in 1902. A horse and buggy are tethered at the street.
The lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Gypsum, burned after a December 15,1990, late night fire. According to Fire Chief, Dave Vroman, the blaze was traced to a furnace recently installed. First Lutheran Church of Gypsum and Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Vail took over ownership...
