He was a pilot with the Blue Angels in 1960-61, and flew the F9F-8P Cougar from which the team was filmed for the NBC television series The Blue Angels, launching his interest in television. He went on to a successful career as a TV writer and producer. In 1977 he joined Aaron Spelling at Spelling Television, where he is currently executive producer and vice chairman. His credits include the series Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Dynasty, Hotel, Vega$, Charmed, and 7th Heaven. His newest series, Clubhouse, is currently on CBS (Tues 9pm). His TV movies include the Emmy Award-winning Day One and And the Band Played On.
